WE ARE NOT ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS AT THIS TIME
People, with or without their canine companions, who have agreed to meet up with clients and their dogs for socialization and training purposes. As a thank you for their invaluable service they will be invited to join future organized Paw Control events such as pack walks and backyard get togethers. Should you wish to get involved or just have questions, please call 705-890-0376 for more information.
Wilbur is an 11 month old English Bulldog who lives in Cookstown. He is super friendly with people and dogs, but because he is exuberant he needs to be paired with tolerant dogs. Like all English Bulldogs, Wilbur snorts a lot and is very verbal; a useful training opportunity. He may have a play growl.
Scarlett is an 8 year old Australian Sheppard who lives in Cookstown. She is one of those priceless personalities that adapt to fit the situation; energetic with active dogs and calm with sedate dogs. She can be hesitant with strangers but warms up quickly.
I am the owner of Paw Control Dog Training. I had the idea to enlist volunteers, both human and canine, who would be willing to meet with clients and their dogs for socialization and training opportunities. A well socialized dog leads a better life. They go places and do things. This Volunteer Squad is small, but it is just getting started.
Melissa is Wilbur's owner. She is willing to meet client dogs with or without Wilbur (thank you so much) but her main goal is to socialize her dog. I'm looking forward to Melissa and Wilbur joining us on a pack walk. If only the weather would cooperate!!
Brenda is Scarlett's owner. She and her adult daughter Sarah are willing to meet all kinds of dogs, including those being rehabilitated from past behavioural issues. Yeah! She also owns Maggie, the first and only Kooikerhondje I've ever met. Maggie isn't quite ready for volunteering yet but stay tuned. You can see her in our photo gallery.
Heidi and her husband Eben also bring another valuable resource to the Volunteer Squad; young kids. And their two sons, 8 and 10, are not being dragged into this kicking and screaming. They WANT to be involved. In fact, they ASKED to be involved. And their greatest desire is to meet up with a Rhodesian Ridgeback like the dog they used to have - nudge to Dublin.
